History (abridged) :

Long ago, the Dark One, Gorgon had a mate, Daji. She was beautiful, and he truly loved her, but she was with him essencially for power. When she discovered the true power of the Dagger, she try to kill her lover to take his power for herself. He manage to dodge the fatal blow and to kill his opponant. Heartbroken, uneable to let his love go, he attached the soul of the young woman to a Jade Mask to keep her close to him. Many years later, some thief manage to get the Mask and put it on his face. His soul was instantly destroyed and replace by Daji's. As revenge, she cursed the Dark One and trap him in the body of a Bandersnatch, which are known for their close bond between mates.
During centuries, the Mask took several host and the legend of the "Demon Baigujing of the Jade Mask" was borned. Some decade ago, in her previous host Doumu Yianjun, Baigujing had a son, Dong Zhuo who she will later use to maintain some power over the East Empire. More recently, after the destruction of her previous body, her Mask was discovered by the daughter of a rich farmer. Taking over her body, she anihilate her whole family, excluding her youngest brother who she took with her. With him, and using her charms, she married into the Jia family. Despite being married to Jia Rong, she had an affair with her father in law to get more power into this powerful family.
She mounted the coup d'état by using her son and other powerful allies of her, the Rakshasas. She put her husband as the new head of the family. To consolidate his power, she want the real heir, Jia Baoyu to be dead. She killed her brother Zhong, but wasn't able to put her claws on her target. She sent bandits, the army, various monsters and even the Rakshasas after him, in vain. She managed to separate the group, but that doesn't last long. She was finally killed by the four disciples during the Battle of Lanka, despite using her whole power of a demon. In her demonic form, she looks like a Skeleton.
Soon after, a maid of the Imperial Palace discovered the Jade Mask and Baigujing was able to come back. With her son dead, as well as the Rakshasas, she have no longer any political power. Vengeful, she doesn't give up in her quest to kill Xuanzang. To get close to him, she married his friend Zhu Bajie but finished to be uncovered by Sun Wukong. After a harsh fight between the two in the center of the capital, Sun Wukong definitly kill her by destroying her Mask. But before she disappears, she used the Jade Stone of the Jia family to trap Sun Wukong in the Netherworld.

Notes :
- Jade Mask was originally think as Dark One Zoso's apprentice, with him being the real big bad guy. This was changed because I think it's more fitinng to have an independant villain.
- The "Malefic Mask" is loosely based on the Majora's Mask of Zelda's videogames serie.
- Her identity and backstory before her curse isn't developped yet. Maybe later, if I find an interesting idea, and legend link to a Mask (preferably not Asian).
- It's not sure yet, but she may be originated from Wonderland.
- Her demonic form is yet to determine.
