Abridged History :

Kumbhakarna is a wise Rakshasa, living in the Mount Jieyang, located between the Women's Country of Khemi and the Rakshasa City of Lanka. He is overall a good person, but he is not good with human languages, that make him into trouble. He know Serket from a long time and seems to appreciate her visits. When she was forced to release Xuanzang, she looked for his help. For her, and to avenge the abduction of his nephew, he tricked the group to drink in the spring he protect. Trustful, Xuanzang was the only one to drink. The spring is then revealed to be the Spring of Sterility whose water makes everyone who drink it barren. He then report to his brother about the group, what will lead to the kidnapping of Xuanzang. Master of Illusions, he use his power to make a copy of the young man. For a time, the group didn't noticed the absence of their leader. The illusion was then lift by Sha Wujin, suspicious of the strange comportment of his brother. During the war between Ravana & Sun Wukong, he lend his powers to his oldest brother, Ravana. When the war turned really bad, he begin to think they should free Xuanzang. Fearing that the Demon King would listen to him, Jade Face put Kumbhakarna into a sleeping curse. He is still asleep, but his spirit joined his other brother, Yama, in the Netherworld. He will later meet Sun Wukong there.


Notes :
- He took place of the Immortal Ruyi from the Journey to the West.
- The water of his spring is used to make Infertility Potion in the show (used by King George in S2E03 or Regina in S4E20).
- The Netherworld is the world (partially) seen in the show during the first half of Season 2.
