Abridged History :
Shurpanakha is the only daughter of Kaikesi and, so, she is the sister of the King Ravana. Despite being extremely beautiful, by human standards, she is considered as ugly by her people. Indeed, she has no horns, smooth skin, not bright vivid skin... One day, as she bathed in the river, she met Sugriva and the two fell in love. Being a Vanaka, Ravana reject Sugriva and almost managed to kill him. Shurpanakha was then forbidden to leave the palace. Years later, the Monkey managed to came back in Lanka, and the two lovers run away together. They get secretly married. They met Sun Wukong, who protect them of Indrajit, send after them. During the battle between Ravana and Sun Wukong, Sugriva assist his "brother" while Shurpanakha remains in the Vanara's city. Discovering that her lover died by the hand of her brother, she left the city and begin a pilgrimage, in the memory of her husband, with whom she planed to visit the whole world. She sadly disappeared in a shipwreck during her journey.
